Admiral Flatley Park was located downtown
on the east bank of the Fox River
at (and under) the Main Street bridge.
The park was sold for condominium development.
Construction/destruction began in 2007.

The fountain and monument to Adm. Flatley
were originally located north of the old bridge.
They ended up on the south side of the new bridge
when Main Street was relocated to Cedar Street.
The monuments were moved, but the fountain was lost. |
||
The parkway north of Main Street remains as part of the Fox River and East River greenways. | ||
A new Flatley Park was later designated farther upstream (south). The trail and parkway were extended upstream and connect with the new park and with the Fox River trail.
