History of Green Bay's Parks

St. Philip’s School/Park

This is church property and before the Preble consolidation, the Town maintained the ball diamonds, erected a shelter, paid for lighting and conducted a playground program and operated an ice rink. In the consolidation agreement the city agreed to continue this mutual agreement; however it was not until 1982 that a written agreement with the church was finalized when there was a street improvement assessment. This was cancelled in lieu of any rental due the church from the Parks and Recreation Department. The school also uses the park facilities.

In 2007, the lease was renewed.
